The anorak is part of our official AWG collection, worn by the athletes who represented Greenland at the Arctic Winter Games 2024.
Ikuma’s design was developed in collaboration with Greenland’s Sports Confederation for the Arctic Winter Games 2024. The deep red colour was chosen specifically to represent the Greenlandic team. At the same time, this anorak is our most iconic outerwear and part of our DNA.
Ikuma is sewn from a cotton/polyester blend, making it extremely hard-wearing and practical for hunting, fishing and work. It is windproof and water-repellent with a water column of 15,000 mm and a breathability of 10,000 g/m2. For extra resistance to harsh weather, it has been treated with a layer of eco DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish.
Ikuma has two-way zips at the sides, so you can easily take the anorak on and off or adjust the temperature. It has a large kangaroo pouch pocket on the front with zips and side-entry, giving you easy access to your things. Inside the pocket there’s an extra pocket for ammunition and other small essentials you need close at hand.
The hood collar is also adapted to be extra high, with a wind block behind the neck zip to protect against cold wind and snow. The hood can be adjusted at the front and back depending on the weather.
Ikuma matches the Ikuma trousers, if you want the official Arctic Winter Games look. But you can just as easily pair it with whatever suits you best.
Just as our ancestors’ anoraks were protected by amulets, the Ikuma anorak carries our own Meqqusaalik amulet on the zip pulls, so you’re well protected whatever awaits out there.
