Outdoor wear designed in Greenland for all-weather protection anywhere
Meqqusaalik is the first-ever Greenlandic outdoor brand designed by people of the Arctic for all-weather protection.
As Greenlanders, our survival skills and intuition in extreme conditions are part of our DNA.
We are always prepared for the unpredictable, and ready to use our skills to read nature’s signs and solve practical challenges. But we also know there are more things in heaven and earth, and sometimes we need protection against dark forces.
Which is also why we knew that Greenland’s first-ever outdoor brand would not only need to stand up to some of the most extreme weather on the planet but also protect against things unseen – whatever awaits out in the wilds. Which is why we named our brand after the ancient spirit guide: Meqqusaalik, who cared for humankind.
TESTED BY GREENLANDIC FISHERS AND HUNTERS
Meqqusaalik is designed for real-world use. This is why our first anorak styles were tested in collaboration with modern hunters and fishermen, who subjected the garments to extreme weather, hunting and everyday wear and tear. They gave us their feedback, and we adjusted the design. The result is the anoraks we sell today, along with the many other outdoor wear styles designed to be worn in the wilderness, on the harbour and everywhere else as protection against the elements.
