Description
Kigutaarnaq is a lightweight, padded jacket for women with a tailored fit, made from 40% recycled materials. It is crafted from T8 yarn, a stretchy fabric known for its durability, colorfastness, and quick-drying properties. The jacket is insulated with ALTO wool padding — a blend of wool and recycled plastic bottles — providing warmth while helping reduce plastic waste.
Kigutaarnaq can withstand rain, wind, and cold thanks to waterproof zippers, taped seams, a 20,000 mm water column, and breathability of 30,000 g/m²/24h. The entire jacket is treated with an eco-friendly DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish for extra resistance against harsh weather. Temperature can be adjusted by opening the ventilation zippers under the arms, loosening the elastic cuffs, or tightening the hem and hood with the elastic drawcords. Two chest pockets and side pockets offer space for an extra hat, gloves, or small essentials. The jacket is also ski-ready, featuring a snow skirt and a lift pass pocket on the left sleeve.
Just like our ancestors’ outerwear was protected by amulets, Kigutaarnaq has its very own amulet pocket for your personal charm.
The jacket also features RECCO technology, which can help rescue teams locate people caught in avalanches, lost in the mountains, or in other emergency situations. While this technology is not yet used in Greenland, it can provide safety in many other places around the world.
