TESTED BY FISHERMEN AND HUNTERS
As a people, we carry an inherited strength and knowledge of survival under extreme conditions. With Meqqusaalik, you are protected by modern textiles and ancient techniques refined by our ancestors over thousands of years. It has been tested in collaboration with today’s hunters and fishermen, who have exposed the clothing to storms, hunting, and the wear and tear of everyday life. So, whatever awaits out there, you are well protected—as long as you respect the forces of nature and rely on your strength and intuition.
The myth of
MEQQUSAALIK
It is said in the old traditions that the Angakok sought out the helping spirit
Meqqusaalik when he was to embark on a spiritual journey into the perilous
inland. There he received small pieces of Meqqusaalik’s magical feather cloak,
which protected him on his journey into the unknown.
The story is told by Ole Kristiansen.
The Myth of MEQQUSAALIK
EXPERIENCES OF FISHERS AND HUNTERS
As a society, we have lost the strength and knowledge to survive in difficult times. Wearing a mask, you are protected from the latest weapons and technologies that our ancestors have improved over thousands of years. Today, in collaboration with hunters and fishermen, they have been tested in the wild, in hunting and in everyday life. And no matter what the weather is like, you are protected, respect the forces of nature and use your senses.

Modern quality
and old techniques
The Meqqusaalik is sewn using our ancestors’ traditional techniques, combined with durable modern textiles such as Primaloft, genuine merino wool, and wind- and waterproof materials. Our anoraks, for example, feature an ammunition pocket, an amulet pocket, and extra zippers – allowing you to shut out wind and snow, or open up if the sun suddenly warms.

TESTED BY GREENLANDIC FISHERS AND HUNTERS
We live in one of the most challenging natural environments on Earth. So everything we surround us with must be able to withstand our Arctic life. This includes our clothing.

WHO IS MEQQUSAALIK?
We have always known that our natural environment is unpredictable. We have also always known that our clothing needs to do more than simply protect against the elements. That is why our outdoor wear has the name and power of the ancient spirit guide: Meqqusaalik.
