This document sets out the terms and conditions that apply when you make a purchase on Meqqusaalik.gl. If you are unable to find the information you need in this document, please send an email to meqqusaalik@kni.gl.
By placing an order on Meqqusaalik.gl you accept these General Terms and Conditions. You can always find the most current terms and conditions on this page. These General Terms and Conditions are governed by the ordinary provisions concerning purchase and sale of goods according to Greenlandic law, including the provisions concerning consumer purchases.

Legislation
The sale of products on Meqqusaalik.gl is governed by Greenlandic law.
The products on Meqqusaalik.gl are sold exclusively to private consumers making the purchase for purposes which can be interpreted as neither professional nor work-related.
Prices
All prices are listed in Danish kroner (DKK), including taxes and other duties. Prices offered by our retailers may differ from those offered on Meqqusaalik.gl.
Delivery charges
The delivery charges are applied per parcel and vary according to the quantity, type, weight and volume of the items. The delivery charge is calculated and stated before the purchase is completed. We make an effort to deliver our products in as few consignments as possible.
Click & Collect
Residents in Sisimiut can make use of our Click & Collect service at our Meqqusaalik flagship store. To do this, you place your order and make your payment online. Your order will be ready for collection next day after 12:00-noon.
We pack orders on all weekdays.
- Use your laptop, tablet or smartphone for easy ordering.
- Order your products in advance and jump the queue.
- Your order will be ready for collection next day after 12:00-noon at our Meqqusaalik flagship store.
The same terms and conditions apply to click & collect orders as to physical purchases made at our store.
Availability
When you make a purchase on Meqqusaalik.gl, we check item availability twice: 1) when the item is placed in the basket and 2) when the order is confirmed. As a matter of course, we always make an effort to display the number of items currently available in stock. However, occasionally there may be some discrepancy between the advertised availability and the quantity actually held in stock. This is because not all pages are refreshed at the same interval, which means that you may be unable to complete your purchase.
Payment
We accept the following payment cards: MasterCard, VISA-Dankort, Dankort, VISA and VISA Electron, as well as MobilePay. The purchase amount is reserved in your account when you place an order on Meqqusaalik.gl. However, we do not withdraw the amount from your account until the items have been shipped to the requested delivery address. For partial deliveries, only the amount applicable to the items actually delivered is withdrawn. If we are unable to fulfil all or part of your order, you will only pay for the items that have actually been delivered. You will receive an invoice by email. The invoice will not contain sensitive data, although it will always state which payment card was used for the transaction and the name of the person placing the order.
Upon payment, your card data and the agreed purchase amount will be transferred in an encrypted format via the approved QuickPay software. Meqqusaalik.gl does not store your data. We use encryption to protect your data from third parties. We can never accidentally withdraw more than the amount you agreed to when you placed your order. Legally, you are entitled to a refund under the following circumstances:
• Non-delivery of items.
• You make use of your right to return and cancel the order (cooling-off period) – please see the section below.
• The amount is withdrawn from your account without prior acceptance by you.
Delivery
Deliveries are only made to addresses in Greenland. You will receive further information when you complete the payment process for your order.
Delivery is by Tusass postal service. Deliveries are made by air carrier. With this service, you can opt to receive track & trace number, allowing you to track your order.
You may also choose to collect your order at our Meqqusaalik flagship store in Sisimiut.
When your order has been dispatched from our warehouse, you will receive an email with an invoice for the items sent. If we are unable to deliver all of your your entire order at the same time, you will receive a separate invoice covering only the items that have been sent. When the remaining items have been dispatched, you will receive a separate invoice for these.
Time of delivery
The time of delivery follows the times of delivery offered by Tusass.
Cooling-off period
According to Greenlandic consumer legislation you are entitled to a cooling-off period of 14 days during which you may cancel your purchase after you have received your order.
The cooling-off period expires 14 days after the day on which you received your order or your order reaches the place of delivery. For orders comprising multiple consignments, the cooling-off period expires 14 days after the day on which you physically receive the last consignment of your order.
If you change your mind about your purchase, you must contact us within 14 days of receipt of your order. To do this, write to meqqusaalik@kni.gl. Your message must state clearly that you wish to make use of the cooling-off period.
Partial cooling-off period
Meqqusaalik gives you the right to partially change your mind about your purchase. However, it is important to note that we do not refund delivery charges if you have purchased multiple items on one order and you wish to change your mind about part of this order.
Returns
Should you wish to return an item purchased on Meqqusaalik.gl or at the Meqqusaalik flagship store in Sisimiut, you have two options: you can either 1) bring the item to the Meqqusaalik flagship store in Sisimiut or 2) send the item to the Meqqusaalik head office. Always remember to bring and/or enclose your invoice, both for returns to the flagship store in Sisimiut and for items sent to the Meqqusaalik head office.
You must return the item to us without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you have informed us that you wish to cancel your purchase. To do this, write to meqqusaalik@kni.gl.
You must attach a copy of the order confirmation. Please note that we will be able to process your return faster if you also complete and enclose our return slip. You are personally responsible for paying the direct expenses of returning the item(s). You bear the risk for the returned item(s) from the time when the item(s) was/were delivered to you and until it/they reach us again. We do not accept return parcels sent as cash on delivery.

The condition of returned items
Items must be returned in the same condition as they were when you received them. This means that they can be sold as new. You are allowed to try the item in the same way as you would in a physical store. But you are not allowed to use the product.
If you have tried and/or tested the product in some other way than described above and this has reduced its value, you are liable and will only receive a partial refund of the amount you have paid.
All products must be returned bearing their original labels and in the original packaging, if possible. If you opt to use alternative non-brand packaging and the item is damaged in transit, you are liable to pay for such damage.
Refunds
If you cancel your purchase, we will refund the amount you have paid. In the event of a decrease in value for which you are liable, that amount will be deducted from the amount paid.
If you wish to make use of your right to cancel your purchase, we will refund all payments you have made without undue delay and, under any circumstances, no later than 30 days from the date when we were notified of your decision to cancel your purchase. We will make the refund using the same means of payment as you used for the original transaction, unless you have expressly given your consent for an alternative means of payment.
Note: You are not entitled to claim a refund of the delivery charge if you cancel part of your purchase.
We have the right to withhold your refund until we have received the returned item(s), unless you provide proof that the item(s) have been sent before this.
Claims for defects
You have a two-year legal guarantee from receipt of the item. The guarantee gives you the right to send us a claim for defects discovered up to two years after you received the item.
You may at your option have the product repaired or replaced, receive a refund or a reduction in the price, depending on the actual situation. The claim must be justified and the defect must not have arisen as a result of incorrect use or wilful misuse of the item.
You must make your claim within a reasonable period of time after identifying the defect in the item. If you make your claim within two months after the defect was identified, you have submitted your claim in time.
Complaints must be made to customer service at the Meqqusaalik flagship store in Sisimiut or by writing to meqqusaalik@kni.gl.
Damage in transit
When you receive your items, we advise you to inspect the packaging for potential, visible damage. If the packaging is damaged or is otherwise obviously defective, you must sign the delivery note – stating your reservation that the contents may also have been damaged. You can also refuse to take receipt of the items. In the event you do this, you must contact customer service at meqqusaalik@kni.gl as soon as possible and inform us that you have rejected the items.
Handling defective items
When making a claim through Meqqusaalik.gl customer service, you must always state the order number, product type and provide a short description of the defect. The right to complain
You can make a complaint by writing to us at shop@meqqusaalik.gl.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Greenlandic Consumer and Competition Authority via https://aua.gl.
Venue
The General Terms and Conditions for Meqqusaalik.gl are governed by Greenlandic law and any disputes between the buyer and Meqqusaalik.gl arising out of the buyer’s acquisition of goods from Meqqusaalik.gl are subject to settlement in a Greenlandic court of law.
Privacy policy
The following describes how KNI A/S process the personal data you leave and/or submit when you visit our website, Meqqusaalik.gl, and use the services offered by the website.
1. Collecting personal data
You will always be informed before we collect your personal data. We collect personal data such as your name, email address, home address, telephone number and similar identification data.
2. Processing personal data
We collect and use personal data in connection with:

- Payment for orders placed on webshop: Payment data relating to verification and completion of payment procedures. The data are submitted in an encrypted format and in compliance with industry standard.
The data are processed in accordance with the rules laid down in our cookie and privacy policy. In this policy, you can read more about how your data are processed, when they are deleted and your rights as a data subject.
Please note, the above procedures only take place provided you have given prior consent, unless we are permitted by law to contact you without your prior consent.
Your data will be deleted when we no longer need to process them for fulfilling one or more of the above purposes. The data may be processed and stored for a longer period of time in anonymised form.
We will not divulge your data to a third party, unless you have consented to this first, except in the following instances:
- Divulging the data is a statutory requirement.
- Divulging the data is a requirement in connection with a legal procedure or potential legal procedure.
- Divulging the data is a requirement to determine, exercise or defend our legal rights.
Personal data are registered with KNI A/S and stored for a period of five (5) years after which period the data will be erased. In addition, we cooperate with a number of other business enterprises which store and process data. These business enterprises process the data exclusively on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We cooperate exclusively with data processors in the European Union (EU) or in countries that can offer your data sufficient protection. For Meqqusaalik.gl, the data controller is KNI A/S. You are entitled to receive information about which data we process about you.
If you believe any of the data are incorrect you are entitled to rectification. In come cases, we have a duty to delete your personal data if you request this. For example, if your data are no longer necessary for the purpose for which we originally stored them. You can contact us if you believe that the processing of your personal data is in violation of the legislation. You can write to us at meqqusaalik@kni.gl.

We have implemented security precautions to ensure that our in-house procedures comply with our high security standards and that the data we register are stored and processed in a secure environment. Only trusted employees with KNI A/S and our third party data processors who process the data in accordance with our instructions can access the data we process about you. With this approach, we aim to secure the quality and the integrity of your personal data.
In order to safeguard against misuse of your personal data, you should never reveal your credentials (user data and passwords) to anyone else.
5. Access to your personal data and other information
Subject to certain statutory exceptions, you are entitled to be informed about the data we process about you. You are also entitled to object to the collection and further processing of your personal data. Furthermore, you are entitled to rectification of your personal data, if required.
6. Links to other websites etc.
Our website may contain links to other websites or to integrated websites. We are not responsible for the content of the websites belonging to other business enterprises or for their practices when it comes to the collection of personal data. If you visit other websites, we recommend that you read the privacy policies of the website owners and other relevant policies.
