KNI A/S DONATES MEQQUSAALIK OUTDOOR WEAR TO SISIMIUT’S HOMELESS
Once again, homeless people in Sisimiut can get a free haircut this year at Salon Inuit. At the same time, other companies will also be making donations. Meqqusaalik is contributing to this excellent initiative with a donation of protective outdoor wear.
This morning, Jeppe Jensen, CEO of KNI, dropped by Salon Inuit, who for the second year in a row is giving homeless people in Sisimiut a free haircut along with donations from other companies and stores. The initiative is the brainchild of the two owners of the hair salon, Inooraq Heilmann Kreutzmann and Emilie Dahl Lennert, to provide assistance to the 14 registered homeless people in Sisimiut.
Jeppe has brought along two large boxes of Meqqusaalik winter jackets, anoraks and ski trousers. Inooraq is moved by KNI’s support. She had been wondering for years how best to help Sisimiut’s homeless people.
“They [homeless people, ed.] have always held a big place in my heart, and I greatly appreciate how the business community here is supporting our initiative. I’m grateful for, and touched by, KNI’s generous donation, which I’m sure will be greatly appreciated in the cold season ahead,” says Inooraq.
KNI’s CEO adds:
I think this is an excellent initiative, which is why we’ve chosen to sponsor it with Meqqusaalik outdoor wear that can keep homeless people warm and protected during the coldest months of the year.”
The CEO feels it is important to help where we can in the best Christmas spirit.
“I usually tell my children that not everyone is guaranteed to have a merry Christmas. For the homeless and less privileged, it can be a tough season. So, if we can show some compassion and help in some way, it can make a difference,” he says.
